7/20/2017  Khadija has joined the MICA lab. She is our medical physics resident in Radiation Oncology department, and has expertise in MR imaging and MR image processing. She will be working on imaging biomarker and MRI image analysis with radiomics and machine learning to predict radiation treatment outcome and toxicities. Welcome!

6/13/2017  Drs. Song, Burdette, and Lee's R01 grant on "PET-determined prostate brachytherapy dosing using intraoperative image-guidance" has been awarded. This grant will support our continuing effort to develop a multi-modal image guidance system for prostate cancer treatment by brachytherapy for next 5 years. Congratulations!

5/28/2017  Dr. Lee's paper entitled "Intraoperative Registered Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy (iRUF) for dose calculation during prostate brachytherapy: improved accuracy compared to standard ultrasound-based dosimetry" has been accepted for publication in Radiotherapy and Oncology (The green journal). 10/1/2016  MICA lab and Rayence Inc. have started a collaborative project on "Development of a software-based x-ray scatter correction algorithm for digital radiography". In this project, we will develop image processing algorithms that estimate and correct x-ray scatter from 2D radiography without using anti-scatter grid.

10/22/2014  Seyoun's paper on CT-CBCT registration with CBCT intensity correction has been accepted for SPIE Medical Imaging 2015. Congratulations! 

10/2/2014  Our first two RUF cases with RadVision were successfully completed. Three RUF sessions for each case were performed and dynamic dosimetry and adaptive planning were made.

9/11/2014   Elekta project on advanced CBCT reconstruction has started.

9/10/2014   Seyoun has presented the hardware-accelerated adaptive radiotherapy platform and demonstrated MICA-ART platform to the department.
